Who We Serve

Who We Serve

  • Vola Sessions is committed that all writers are heard. This means writers of all demographic backgrounds, and specifically, those writing through trauma.

  • Vola specializes in coaching and editing for business workbooks and poetry books, though many children’s authors, fiction writers, memoirists and other nonfiction writers have also found success in the course. All are welcome.

  • Birth Your Book participants are: coachable, community-oriented, creative, committed, compassionate, and communicative.

  • Vola believes that when ALL writers are heard, we are on the path to awaken peace. We believe it is important to name what this looks like in our community. Currently, approximately…

  • 99% of Birth Your Book participants are new authors
  • 78% identify as women
  • 22% identify as queer
  • 23% identify as people of color
  • 6% identify as blind
  • 27% identify as neurodivergent
  • 36% are writing about sexual abuse or other trauma
  • Many identify as low-income
  • Many are psychotherapists or service professionals

As Vola Sessions transitions from an LLC to a nonprofit, we will continue to actively expand the diversity of all of our programs. Please email info@volasessions.com to contribute to that mission, financially or otherwise.

“June is a wonderful book coach! She was amazing and wonderful to work with when writing my own book. If you have spent the last few years thinking… darn, I should just write that book already… now is the time!”
